A panel rip saw feeds sheet stock past the blade under steady pressure, and the feed rollers are what keeps the cut straight. WRC's Composite Tire System is built for that duty: a hard, durable urethane core with a softer urethane cover chemically bonded to it — grip on the outside, stiffness underneath, in a single part.
Why one part instead of two
A conventional feed roller is a steel hub with a tire on it. A Composite roller casts the bore and the keyway straight into the core, up to 12" long, so there is no hub to buy, nothing to press on, and nothing to come loose. WRC calls it a one-and-done design.
The trade is the other way round from Super Drive: with Super Drive you buy the hub once and change tires; with Composite the whole roller is the wear part, and it arrives finished to your dimensions at standard-tooling prices.
What you choose
- the core diameter and the cover diameter — the finished outside diameter is the cover
- the bore and keyway, sized to your shaft
- the width, cast and cut up to 12"
- the hardness of the cover
Set screws, recesses, bevels and bearings can be built into a Composite roller. If your machine needs one, say so when you order.
Solid cores and spoked cores
The P25, P38, P57, P80, P111, P141 and P171 series are solid-core designs. The P110, P140 and P170 series are spoked — lighter, for the larger diameters where a solid core would add mass the machine has to turn.
MultiScore machines
The Composite rollers above are what WRC supplies for panel rip saws generally, and they are what you can configure and buy here today. The MultiScore-specific part numbers are not yet listed online. If you are working on a MultiScore machine, call 800-541-2317 and ask for them by machine model — WRC can identify the part and quote it.
Before you order
Measure the roller you are replacing. Bore and keyway are cast into the part, so a wrong dimension is not something that can be corrected afterwards. If the configuration you need is not shown, call 800-541-2317 — WRC can often match a part from the one you have.
