Choosing a hardness
Our urethane formulations are available in a wide range of high- and low-coefficient-of-friction options, allowing you to tailor the amount of grip or slip required for your application. Higher-friction materials provide superior traction for feeding, pulling, and hold-down applications, while lower-friction materials allow products to move more freely with reduced drag and surface marking.
Our 40A Clear, 50A Blue, 60A Green, and 70A Yellow formulations offer progressively higher traction and grip characteristics, making them excellent choices for feed, drive, and hold-down applications. 70A Yellow is our most popular “sweet spot,” providing an ideal balance of traction, durability, and service life across a wide range of machinery. For applications requiring lower friction, increased wear resistance, and maximum longevity, our 85A and 95A formulations provide reduced traction with enhanced durability.
As a general guideline, 40A provides the highest level of grip, 70A offers the best overall balance of traction and durability, and 95A provides the lowest friction and greatest wear life. Ideal for edge banders, shape-and-sand machines, hold-down systems, feed applications, and custom assemblies requiring high wear resistance, impact absorption, and long service life.
